Impact of Indian Cartoons on Pakistani children:
Due to absence of Pakistani cartoon channel children have nothing to watch instead of Indian cartoons like Oggy, Doremon, Shinshan, Huggy maro and many more.
- Lack of curricular activities let children to spend more time watching cartoons with humor.
- More than 80% children watch Indian cartoon.
- Children have got effected by Indian pictures with humor and this is the reason they not keep their language and religion value and select Hindi words while talking.
- Children spend up more time watching cartoons which cause them to run out of physical activities.
- Children mind is very tightly in getting and copying to anything they are made public.
- Intercultural cartoons deflect children moral, social, lingual and religious value, after all cartoons are the most favorite entertainment for children
- Some major impact are children’s violent behavior, adoption of Hindi words and leads to poor academic performance.
- Children watch Indian cartoons for amusement therefore they are clear in terms of language, that is why Pakistani children watch Hindi cartoons with humor and while watching Hindi version they adapt Hindi as their language and due to Hindu concept in the cartoon child loses his/her religious value as well.
At my time, cartoon were quite decent, now a days cartoons are dubbed very strangely, children listen to the voices of the cartoons and repeat them as a game.

Influence of the Indian language on children:
Mothers were upset over the changes they detected in her children’s everyday language. Children frequently use Hindi words in their everyday speech. “Cable television was responsible for it.
The rise of Hindi channels: While most imagined the Hindi-Urdu controversy would end with the creation of Pakistan, the debate was rising as inter-cultural interaction increases. The rise of Hindi-dubbed channels, with Hindi being the closest equivalent to Urdu, means children have begun to watch both informative and cultural programs in the Hindi language. Over 70% of channels being broadcast are either in Hindi or been dubbed in Hindi, with all children’s channels being broadcast in Hindi.
“What can be done? Children love watching cartoons and all cartoon channels have been dubbed in Hindi,”complained all the mothers.
Broadcast channels in Pakistan are transmitted from two sources; satellite and cable-networking. Cable operators have shown a preference for Hindi-dubbed over English channels to cater to an audience that rarely understands English.
Out of the top five channels watched by children; Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Baby TV, Disney and Pogo; four were in Hindu, while one was in English. Similarly, all three informative channels, National Geographic, Animal Planet and History Channel were only available in Hindi on cable networks. Indian movie and Indian drama channels were also a plenty.
Only Hindi children’s programming: “All that children like to watch was available in Hindi. One can’t stop children from watching TV . A mother said, “Children speak Hindi words in class too, but the school environment is not responsible for the change…televisions are. “Children subconsciously learn words like vishaal, shanti, mukti and adhikaar and use them in conversation at school.”
but thank you to PEMRA, they banned Indian content (every type of it) cartoons, movies and dramas to not air in Pakistan any more. This the far best step for the welfare of our country and we should all wish that this decision should remains same.
